Sabah graduated from Western Illinois University in 2014 with her Bachelors in Social Work (BSW). She began her career as a Substance Abuse Counselor, providing individual, group and family counseling for youth and adults in an outpatient setting. She also has experience serving in the nonprofit sector, including working as a Sexual Assault Advocate, providing counseling and advocacy services to survivors of sexual assault/domestic violence. She also was a Resident Services Manager, overseeing 250+ clients residing in affordable housing complexes by providing resident services programs, one of many being an after-school program for youth/adolescents. Sabah earned her Masters in Social Work (MSW) and Masters in Public Administration (MPA) in 2021 from Aurora University. In 2022, Sabah became a Licensed Social Worker (LSW).
Sabah has a passion to empower her clients in overcoming their obstacles by helping them recognize their personal strengths. She believes that in facing life's challenges and adversity, resilience and emotional strength are developed. By identifying and focusing on personal strengths rather than deficits, Sabah helps clients recognize healthy coping skills to overcome obstacles, develop solutions and achieve their goals. She also values the importance of therapeutic alliances between herself and her clients and believes it is important the client is the driver of their treatment journey with the support of their clinician. By maintaining a warm and safe therapeutic environment, Sabah recognizes the importance of individuality and supports her clients based on their unique, individual needs in conjunction with evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as CBT (cognitive-behavioral therapy), mindfulness-based therapy, solution-focused therapy and process therapy. Sabah works with youth, adolescents, young adults, adults, families and couples.
